Entering her undergraduate years at Western Carolina University, Jane was a bit of an anomaly: She had never met anyone in a sorority before. But when her grandmother died, a group of women she met on campus quickly embraced her through Alpha Xi Delta. It was the moment that would change her life forever. “There was a group of women who cared,”she recalled.
Jane Sutton, Western Carolina '75, served as Alpha Xi Delta's National President from 2001-2005. In October 2007, Jane took the role of NPC Treasurer. "I'm fortunate to have a supportive family that allows me to devote my time in service to NPC and Alpha Xi Delta, " Jane said.
What are the three most important lessons Jane Sutton has learned as an NPC woman?
“We are mentors to the young women of today. Our actions and words have to reflect the founding values of our organizations.”
“There’s an incredible network of dedicated, talented women who are willing to devote countless hours to ensure the opportunity for a sorority experience is still relevant in today’s world.”
“We have to be visionary, bold and confident to lead NPC toward her preferred future.”
