NASPA: Ignite Leadership. Influence Change

Ignite Leadership. Influence Change. That was the theme of this year’s National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) conference in Phoenix, Arizona. I had the pleasure of attending the conference with the other four members of the NPC Executive Committee. The conference was filled with great educational sessions, interesting speakers and wonderful opportunities to engage our higher education partners in thoughtful dialogue. But more than that, the conference was a confirmation that NPC is headed in the right direction. The conversations we are having amongst our member groups, Interfraternal partners and fraternity/sorority advisors are where they need to be. Our efforts to protect the rights of our students and to maintain our sovereignty as organizations is spot on and in some cases, ahead of the curve. The conference also reaffirmed the need that NPC must continue to advocate for our membership. There are very real threats to our existence and the ability to stand together and advocate for the sorority experience has never been more necessary than it is right now. NPC is committed to this advocacy and I look forward to sharing more information on our advocacy efforts in the coming weeks.
